Commercial / Retail Restoration Dry-Out

Challenge
A water main break resulted in completely flooding a nine-thousand square foot commercial / retail building with approximately 2.5 feet of water. The outside temperature ranged between -20 and -30 degrees C. Clean up and restoration efforts began immediately once the flood was discovered.

Objective
The objective was to minimize water damages and restore operation of the facility as soon as possible.

Solution
Restoration and clean up contractors teamed up with ICS Group Emergency Response Rapid-Dry Services Team. ICS delivered, set up and configured equipment for dry-out operation.
  • The site was analyzed by the ICS Rapid-Dry team to determine optimum dry-out performance.
  • Equipment specified for this application included an ICS Rapid-Dry System that was strategically configured to remove moisture.
  • Humidity and temperature readings were logged to monitor progress and prevent excessive drying.
Result
  • Store became operational immediately and during dry-out
  • Dry-out complete in three days
  • Immediate Rapid-Dry process reduced further humidity damage to inventory above flood line
  • Insurance company saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional moisture claims and store down time
