History
ICS Group Inc. was founded as a private company in 1999 as Innovative Climate Solutions Inc. in Cochrane, Alberta. In 2000, two additional partners joined the team, and ICS expanded its ground thaw services to include portable flame-free heat, cure and dry applications. ICS GROUP INC. moved to Calgary in 2002, opened a branch in Edmonton in 2003 and expanded into Fort McMurray in 2004.
Success with early construction projects, such the $60,000,000.00, 500,000 square feet Canadian Tire Distribution Centre, Calgary Airport expansion, multiple commercial and multi-family projects, allowed ICS to prove our value and begin building our reputation as specialized experts. Additional projects of significance include: Thunder Bay Hospital, Calgary Alberta Children’s Hospital, Edmonton World Trade Centre, Balzac Mall and Winnipeg Airport.
Since our inception, many new applications have been developed through ongoing research and development, and new application development, that have helped customers overcome their unique challenges. These innovative solutions have qualified ICS to expand into additional markets such as oil, gas, industrial, events and restoration.
ICS Group Inc. is pleased to have pioneered the portable indirect hydronic market in Alberta and plans to strengthen our specialized offering by continuing to build on our knowledge, increase our expertise and adding innovative products and services to address our customers’ needs.

Our team is made up of people who listen to gain a clear understanding of the challenges and objectives that our customers face. Only then do we draw on our teams 60 plus collective years of construction and related experience, to design a custom tailored solution to overcome our customers’ challenges. Our team is made up of four senior owner directing partners, one junior owner partner, management and employees that all receive performance based incentives. This philosophy allows us to work together with unified goals and deliver our customers value that keeps them choosing us first over any other option.
The partners at ICS Group Inc. bring experience from various professions to make a well-rounded entrepreneurial team. The founders, Dan Henderson and Steve Loeppky bring extensive construction experience with over 20 years each in residential and commercial construction project management. This construction knowledge is the source for our specialized expert focus in the construction industry. Rick Gamracy has an extensive sales and service management background. Rick brings the highest service standards, from previously demanding industries to satisfy the requirements of the construction industry. Ken Kachur has held sales, marketing and business development positions with various organizations. Ken brings professional business experience with a well-rounded skill set to build the business and complement the team. Wes Worobec, our newest partner, holds an MBA (major in marketing) and has over 20 years broad based business experience in the industrial, automotive and construction sectors.
